Error opening Controlled Vocabulary file

Symptom

• Unable to verify terms of a Controlled Vocabulary.
• Error "Error opening authority file" 
• Error "Error opening vocabulary file." in CONTENTdm (classic version) Administration Server portal
• Error "Unable to download Controlled Vocabulary. The Controlled Vocabulary was not found on the CONTENTdm (classic version) Server" in Project Client

Resolution

Please contact OCLC Support with:

• a full-page screenshot of the error,
• the collection alias,
• the field property that you are unable to open.

OCLC Support will need to verify the Vocabulary list for corruption. If you were doing any work prior to the error, please include that information.
