Messages in Circ. Desk

Learn how messages operate in the Circ. Desk in OLIB.

All library defined messages appear on the Circ Desk screen. For example when you scan a user barcode into the issue screen and there is a trap message on that User, OLIB displays a dialog:

There are traps against this user and/or items the user has on loan. Please refer to the Traps list for details
Continue?

  1. To continue, select Yes and check below the Loan Items box where OLIB displays the Trap messages.
  2. To remove the trap, select it and from Actions choose Delete Trap.

System-generated messages are displayed differently, e.g. a message to alert that an item is ready for collection, or that the user has overdue items.
