Update your EZproxy local admin password

Learn how to update your contact information in the configuration UI.

Every Hosted EZproxy server is configured with an EZproxy administrator account during implementation. This account can be used to access EZproxy and its web admin interface.

EZproxy configuration allows an institution to update its own EZproxy admin password. The username for the account cannot be updated from EZproxy configuration.

To update the local admin password:

  1. Select Site Info from the left navigation.
  2. Click Update password in the Admin section.
  3. Enter your new password in the New password and Confirm password text fields.
    • Admin passwords must be at least eight characters, including one capital, one number, and one lowercase.
    • Admin passwords can only use the following special characters: @ ! - _ *
       Note: Special characters are not required.
    • The passwords must match in both fields.
  4. Click Update to save the new password. Password changes may take up to five minutes to take effect.
