About the Item Details screen

Discover how to navigate the Item Details screen in WorldCat.org.

After you search for an item, click the title of any item in your search results to access the Item Details screen. The information on this screen depends on whether you have signed in to WorldCat.org.

 Note: If you are signed in to WorldCat.org and within your institution's IP range, you can select to be redirected to your institution's dedicated version of WorldCat.org.

From this screen, you can:

  1. View bibliographic data for the item.
  2. Add the item to a list, cite the item, or share a link to the item.
  3. Find an item through your library or a nearby library. You can also click a library's name to view its profile page.
    • Find a Copy at a Library - Provides the count of holdings across all editions.
      • Use the Filter by options to filter available editions by format, edition, or distance.
      • If you have not signed in to WorldCat.org, the  Filter by options are unavailable. To filter available editions, click Sign in.
    • Featured libraries tab- Libraries in this tab participate in OCLC's Web Visibility program.
      • You can filter the Featured libraries tab by selecting one of the following filters: Only favorite libraries, Only public libraries 
      • If you have not signed in to WorldCat.org, this tab lists ten libraries, and the Filter by options are unavailable. To view all featured libraries, click Sign in.
    • All libraries tab - Libraries in this tab have at least a cataloging subscription.  
      Note about All libraries visibility
      If you have a cataloging-only subscription and are one of the following library types in OCLC Service Configuration, you will not display in this tab.
      • Corporate
      • Special Library
      • 館藏
      • Correction Facility
      • Other
      • Program
      • Regional Service Provider
      • School Library
      • 不詳
      • Vendor
      • Project
      • Select the Only public libraries checkbox to filter the All libraries list to public libraries only.
      • If you have not signed in to WorldCat.org, this tab will prompt you to click Sign in to view all libraries.
  4. Get an item from your library (only available if you're signed in to WorldCat.org), find an item at a nearby library, find an Open Access item, buy the item, or opt in to item recommendations.
  5. View Goodreads ratings and reviews for the item.
